Every source file carries SPDX-License-Identifier: Apache-2.0. The full text is in LICENSE, and NOTICE lists the third-party material Vaigil carries.
What you may do
Use Vaigil for any purpose, change it, and distribute it or your changes, as source or as a binary, in an open or a closed product, for free or for a fee. You need no permission and no key. Each contributor also grants a licence to the patents of theirs that their contribution needs; that patent licence ends for anyone who sues claiming Vaigil infringes a patent.
What it asks of you
- When you distribute Vaigil or a work based on it, give recipients a copy of the licence and the attribution notices in NOTICE.
- Mark the files you changed as changed.
- Keep the copyright, patent, trademark and attribution notices in the source.
Running Vaigil as a service asks nothing further. The licence does not grant use of the Vaigil name beyond saying where your work came from. Vaigil is provided as is, without warranty.
There is one Vaigil
No feature is held back for a paid tier, there is no separate build, and no code path branches on which licence the operator holds.
